미역의 효능 - 미역은 칼로리는 극히 적고 비타민과 무기질이 풍부한 알칼리성 식품으로 ‘바다의 채소’로 불린다.  일반적으로 3월에 수확하며, 갓 딴 미역을 데쳐서 식히면 그 초록색을 그대로 보존하는 동시에, 미생물의 번식을 막아 더 오래 보관할 수 있게 된다.  미역은 산모나 여성에게 좋은데, 요오드 성분이 많아 출산 시 산모의 잃어버린 혈액을 보충해 주며 여성이 생리할 때 부족해진 철분을 보완하기도 한다.  특히 미역은 칼슘 함량이 많으며 철과 요오드를 다량 함유하고 있다. 미역의 미끈미끈한 침전물은 알긴산이라는 것인데 알긴산은 미세먼지 속 중금속 등을 흡착하여 몸 밖으로 배출해준다. 또한 미역과 다시마 속에 들어 있는 염기성 아미노산인 라미닌은 혈압을 내리는 작용이 있다고 보고되어 있다.
